About
Kathy Cheng, born in Taiwan, is a first generation Asian American immigrant who defies the traditional notions in the practice of law, life and politics. She earned her undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University-Shreveport and received her law degree from South Texas College of Law. She is the founding member of Cheng & Associates, PLLC, with areas of practice including but not limited to complex commercial litigation, family law, probate, tax, and real estate. In 2018, Kathy was the first Asian American to ever seek a statewide position when she ran for Texas Supreme Court advocating the significance of the judiciary. Besides being passionate about the practice of law and advocating community involvement and activism, she is a caretaker to her almost ninety plus year young mom and a mom to her three wonderful children, Isabelle, London and Ethan. "United, we are stronger! Inclusive, we are better! Let's work together to make Texas SD17 a stronger and better part of Texas."
